General Information

  • A head spa is a specialized treatment focusing on the scalp, hair, and mind. It combines various techniques, including scalp massages, aromatherapy, and specialized hair treatments, to promote relaxation, improve scalp health, and enhance hair quality. Think of it as a facial for your scalp!

  • A scalp analysis is a detailed examination of your scalp's condition. During the analysis, we use a magnifying device to closely inspect your scalp. This process helps identify issues like dryness, oiliness, dandruff, sensitivity, and hair thinning. The information gathered during the scalp analysis allows us to customize treatments specifically tailored to your scalp's needs, ensuring optimal results and improved scalp health.

  • Head spa treatments offer numerous benefits, such as stress relief, improved blood circulation, dandruff reduction, healthier scalp, stronger and shinier hair, and overall relaxation.

  • Our services range from 30 to 120 minutes, depending on the type of treatment chosen. The addition of service enhancements will add time to your service. See our services page for more details.

  • The effects of head spa treatments can vary from person to person due to differences in scalp condition and hair quality. Typically, you may notice some basic benefits, such as improved scalp cleanliness and a sense of relaxation, after just one session. However, for more significant results, like deep nourishment, repair, or improvement in hair growth or quality, it often takes several consecutive treatments. Regular sessions are recommended to achieve and maintain optimal results.

  • Similar to dieting and exercise, hair growth and scalp health are long-term processes that require consistent care. Generally, you will begin to see noticeable improvements after several consecutive treatments. The exact number of sessions needed varies based on the current health of your scalp and your hair's growth cycle. Regular treatments are essential for achieving and maintaining optimal scalp and hair health.

  • For optimal results, we recommend getting a head spa treatment every month. However, this can vary based on individual needs and hair/scalp conditions.

    Certain treatments, such as our hair loss treatments require a weekly or monthly treatment.

  • Just like our face’s skin, the scalp and hair require regular care and maintenance. A regular head spa treatment helps to remove debris and excess oils from the scalp, nourish the scalp and hair roots, and provide essential nutrients for healthy hair growth. By maintaining this routine, you will notice a healthier scalp and shinier, stronger hair over time.

  • There are several reasons why this might happen. Sometimes, the detoxification process can temporarily bring impurities to the surface, similar to breakouts after a facial, making your scalp appear worse before it gets better. It could also be due to sensitivity or an allergic reaction to certain ingredients in the products used. Increased circulation from the massage can cause temporary redness or sensitivity. Additionally, not following aftercare instructions, such as avoiding harsh shampoos, can negatively impact your scalp. Lastly, underlying scalp conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or seborrheic dermatitis might flare up after treatment. We will re-evaluate your scalp condition and customize a more suitable treatment plan for you at your next appointment. We also recommend paying close attention to your daily scalp care routine to achieve better results.

Treatments and Services

  • We offer a variety of treatments for the scalp and face.

    Scalp treatments include deep cleansing scalp treatments, hydrating and nourishing treatments, anti-dandruff treatments, hair growth stimulation treatments, and relaxation-focused treatments.

    Face treatments include Esthemax Hydrojelly facials (can be added on to facial treatments) and Hydrafacial treatments.

  • Yes, our treatments are designed to cater to all hair types and scalp conditions. Our specialists will tailor each treatment to meet your specific needs.

  • Yes, we prioritize using high-quality, natural products in our treatments to ensure the best care for your scalp and hair.

  • Rene Furterer was founded under the belief that hair could only be repaired and revitalized from the roots of a healthy scalp. Their philosophy has led them to develop all-natural products aimed at caring for the scalp and is in alignment with Cosh's mission to help our customers achieve healthier scalps.

  • Every service includes a gentle towel dry and a rough dry with a Dyson blow dryer.

    Since we put so much effort into properly cleansing your scalp, we don’t provide styling services to avoid applying excess heat or product to your hair and scalp.

Bookings and Appointments

  • The best way to book an appointment is through our website's online booking system, but you can also book by texting us or by visiting us in person.

    If you’re booking for a group, please reach out to us via text or phone, so we can find a time that works for your group.

  • It’s best to reach out to us by text or phone if yo’d like to book for a group.

  • While we do accept walk-ins, we highly recommend booking an appointment in advance to ensure availability and to minimize waiting time.

  • We require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or no-shows will incur a fee equal to 50% of your total service price.

Memberships

  • Nope! Memberships renew monthly, and you can cancel anytime after your first 3 months. We keep it simple so you stay in control.

  • No worries - your credit rolls over (60 days for Ritual, 90 days for Indulge and Thrive). Just use it before it expires to stay in rhythm.

  • Yes. You can pause once every 12 months for up to 30 days. Just let us know in writing at least 7 days before your next billing date.

  • Memberships are non-transferable, but if you’re a Thrive member, you’ll receive a quarterly guest pass to share with a friend.

  • You can adjust your membership tier anytime after your 3-month commitment. Your new benefits and billing will begin on your next renewal date.

  • Just email us at least 7 days before your next billing cycle. You’ll still have access to any remaining credits through your rollover period.

  • You can continue to use any remaining credits until they expire, even after your membership ends.

  • If you cancel within 24 hours or don’t show up, one of your credits will be forfeited. We respect your time and ours, so we appreciate as much notice as possible.

  • Guest Pass Refresh treatments are available Tuesday–Friday only. This keeps our weekend space open for premium experiences.

  • We’ve got you covered! We’ll remind you when you have credits waiting to use so your membership always feels worthwhile.

Before and After the Treatment

  • This is completely up to you!

    If you do decide to shampoo before your appointment, we recommend that you do so 24 hours before, so we can get a better sense for what type of scalp you have. Shampooing 24 hours before your appointment will allow your scalp's sebaceous glands to do their usual thing for a day before we analyze it, so we can get a true sense for their level of activity. It won't be a problem if you shampoo on the day off, though.

    If you haven't shampooed for multiple days before your appointment, that's not an issue either. We'll combine the information you give us regarding the last time you shampooed with the data we're seeing in our scalp computer to diagnose your scalp and provide a personalized treatment plan for you.

    In essence, come as you are!

  • Since we'll be massaging your head and parts of your face, it's best if you avoid putting product in your hair and remove any jewelry from your face, ears, and neck. It's not a problem, though, if you can't. We'll have somewhere for you to put your things and can still work on you if you have product in your hair.

  • We want you to be as comfortable as possible during your service, so wear loose clothing. Additionally, minimal to no makeup is encouraged.

  • While we happily service clients with extensions, we are not responsible for extensions that come loose or are damaged during the service. We recognize that extensions are expensive and delicate and will be as careful as possible in handling them. However, we simply cannot assume responsibility if they come out or are damaged as a result of a service provided to you.

    We strongly recommend that clients with hair extensions schedule our services when their extensions are out or in between maintenance appointments to provide a better experience and prevent potential issues from occurring.

    Please Note: We may omit certain aspects of any head spa service if you have hair extensions on.

  • During your treatment, your Scalp Specialist will give you a personalized recommendation for shampoo frequency. It’s best to follow that recommendation.

Special Considerations

  • If you have any medical conditions or scalp issues, please consult with your healthcare provider before booking a treatment. Inform our specialists of any concerns during your consultation.

  • Yes, our treatments are generally safe for pregnant women, but you will need to lie flat on your back for most of the treatment, so we recommend consulting with your healthcare provider beforehand. Please inform us of your pregnancy when booking.

  • Yes, we offer treatments suitable for children, as long as they are with a guardian or parent who consents on their behalf.

  • To ensure a serene and relaxing environment for all our clients, we kindly request that you do not bring children or pets to your appointment. We strive to provide a peaceful atmosphere where you can fully unwind and enjoy your treatment. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Scalp Purging & Reactions

  • Purging is when your scalp pushes out buildup, oil, or impurities after a deep cleansing or stimulating treatment. It’s similar to what can happen with facials—sometimes small bumps, flakiness, or temporary irritation appear as your scalp adjusts. While it can feel surprising, it’s usually a sign that your scalp is detoxing and responding to the treatment.

  • Not everyone does. The majority of our client leave feeling refreshed with no visible reactions (within the last year, only one of our clients has experienced purging post-treatment). However, because our treatments deeply cleanse and stimulate the scalp, some people may experience it. This can look like small bumps, mild flakiness, or temporary itchiness as your scalp pushes out buildup and adjusts. If it happens, it’s usually short-lived (a few days to two weeks) and a normal part of your scalp’s renewal process. If you ever feel unsure, we’re here to check in and guide you through after-care.

  • Most purging reactions are short-lived and settle within a few days to two weeks. Everyone’s scalp is unique—some people experience no reaction at all, while others may notice temporary bumps or itchiness before their scalp balances out.

  • Purging typically looks like small bumps or mild flakiness that appear shortly after treatment. If you notice spreading redness, pus, or significant discomfort, it may be something else (like sensitivity or folliculitis), and we recommend checking in with us or a dermatologist.

  • Hair naturally sheds 50–150 strands per day, and shedding can increase during stress, seasonal changes, or hair’s normal growth cycle. Our treatments stimulate circulation and promote healthy growth, but they do not cause permanent hair loss. Some shedding may be more noticeable after stimulation because existing loose hairs are released.

    • Use a gentle, fragrance-free shampoo until your scalp calms down.

    • Avoid scratching or picking, which can cause irritation.

    • Rinse with cool water or apply a cool compress for itch relief.

    • If discomfort lasts more than 1–2 weeks or worsens, consult us or a dermatologist for guidance.

  • Not always, since it’s your scalp’s natural response to stimulation and detox. However, keeping a consistent scalp care routine at home and communicating any sensitivities with your specialist before treatment can help minimize reactions.

  • Most of the time, no. Purging is temporary and a normal part of your scalp adjusting to treatment. We’re here to guide you through it and make sure your scalp feels its best.

  • We accept credit/debit cards and mobile payment options. We collect a deposit at the time of booking and the balance is due after your service. Please note that we are a cashless business.

  • Yes, we offer gift cards. These make perfect gifts for loved ones. Click the Gift Card button to purchase, or come visit us for a physical card.
